On July 8th, The Levitt AMP Wooster Music Series will welcome in the UK-based bluegrass band The Often Herd, known for their unique combination of American and Northern England string traditions. The free outdoor concert will take place on the lawn at Wayne Center for the Arts (WCA), located in downtown Wooster at 237 S. Walnut Street. The lawn will open at 5pm, with music starting at 6pm.

Known for spanning across “the boundaries of bluegrass, folk, and acoustic,” The Often Herd has already garnered widespread international recognition, winning “Best European Bluegrass Band” at the 2018 La Roche Bluegrass Festival in Paris.
Most recently, they won the International Bluegrass Music Association’s International Performance Grant, allowing them to tour the U.S. In addition to shows at The Grand Old Opry and the Frankfort Bluegrass Festival, The Often Herd sought out The Levitt AMP Wooster Music Series for their 5-week U.S. tour.
“I was delighted when The Often Herd’s management reached out to us,” says WCA Director of Development Tiffany Leeper, “ It is an honor to have an acclaimed international band in our music series.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy dinner from Korasada food truck, which will be onsite. Beverages will be available for purchase including locally-brewed JAFB beer. Concerts will continue every other Wednesday this summer, featuring indie rockers, an alt-country band, and a Celtic rock group. The Levitt AMP Wooster Music Series is supported in part by the Levitt Family Foundation, which partners with changemakers and nonprofits to strengthen the social fabric of communities across America through free, live music in outdoor public spaces. Wooster Color Point is the Presenting Sponsor along with partners the City of Wooster, Best Western Plus Hotel and Conference Center, and Ideastream Public Media. As the fourth concert in the series, The Often Herd’s performance will be sponsored by Trillium Creek Dermatology.
