Brett Newski and the Bad Inventions to bring Home-grown Americana to the Levitt AMP Music Series

On August 5th, The Levitt AMP Wooster Music Series will welcome Brett Newski and the Bad Inventions, a Wisconsin-based alt-country and americana band. The free outdoor concert will take place on the lawn at Wayne Center for the Arts (WCA), located in downtown Wooster at 237 S. Walnut Street. The lawn will open at 5pm, with music starting at 6pm.

Newski discovered his passion for live performance in his garage band “The Nod”. Today, Newski pulls from these humble roots, channeling artists like Bob Dylan and Tom Petty with his “DIY” style. Known for his “Midwestern hustle,” Newski performs 80-100 shows per year spanning across America, Asia, South Africa, Germany, Australia, and Scandinavia. Newski’s newest album, AmeriCONa, is an extension of his own eclectic personality, combining “‘60s-era Bob Dylan” influences with “‘90s alternative rock”.

Before Newski, attendees are encouraged to come early to see a preview of WCA’s The Nutcracker, which will run December 4-6, 2026. The performance will showcase dancers from WCA’s Nutcracker Camp, as well as members of WCA’s Dance Company. All dancers participating in fall ballet classes at WCA will earn a role in the winter Nutcracker. For more information about dance class offerings, visit https://wayneartscenter.org/dance/.

During the performance, attendees can enjoy dinner from Korasada food truck, which will be onsite. Beverages will also be available for purchase including locally-brewed JAFB beer. Concerts will continue for one more Wednesday this summer, featuring the Celtic rock group Tartan Terrors. For updates and additional concert information, visit WayneArtsCenter.org/levittwoo or follow Wayne Center for the Arts on Facebook and Instagram.

The Levitt AMP Wooster Music Series is supported in part by the Levitt Family Foundation, which partners with changemakers and nonprofits to strengthen the social fabric of communities across America through free, live music in outdoor public spaces.  Wooster Color Point is the Presenting Sponsor along with partners the City of Wooster, Best Western Plus Hotel and Conference Center, and Ideastream Public Media.
