The Visual Arts Department at Wayne Center for the Arts offers a dynamic range of classes and workshops designed to inspire creativity in students of all ages and skill levels. From beginners to advanced artists, our programs provide opportunities to explore various media and techniques, fostering artistic growth in a supportive and engaging environment.

Our classes are scheduled seasonally, with sessions beginning in January (Winter-Spring Session), June (Summer Session), and August (Fall Session), allowing participants to find the perfect fit for their schedules and interests. The Visual Arts Department encompasses a wide array of disciplines, including painting (watercolor, acrylic, oil), drawing, printmaking, and mixed media.

We believe that everyone can experience the transformative power of creativity through visual arts. Young children can embark on their artistic journey with fun and educational classes like Doodle Buggies and Preschool Picassos, where they’ll learn foundational concepts such as color theory and shapes while creating their own masterpieces. Kids and teens can delve into a variety of techniques through exciting classes in drawing, painting, and printmaking, building their skills and confidence.

For adults, our department offers an enriching environment where they can refine their painting and drawing abilities under the guidance of our talented instructors. Additional opportunities in printmaking such as etching and lithography offer great ways to get creative and explore new mediums. Whether you’re looking to hone your skills or simply enjoy the creative process, our classes provide a welcoming space for artistic expression at any stage of life.
