Flute and Piano, accepting students beginning in May 2018!
Nichole Fehrman is an active flutist, accompanist, and educator. After growing up in central Pennsylvania, she received her undergraduate degree is from the University of Dayton, where she enjoyed a range of performing opportunities, including serving as principal flutist of the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and University Orchestra. Nichole was honored to be featured on the University Honors Recital as one of the top six performers in the department, and received the Department of Music Education's Scholastic Achievement Award. She holds her certification in Orff-Schulwerk pedagogy from Baldwin-Wallace University. Before entering the world of full-time private teaching and performing, she taught elementary and middle school music for Clear Fork Valley Local Schools in Bellville, OH, and St. Mary Elementary in Chardon, OH.
In addition to teaching private flute and piano to students in Wooster and Canton, OH, Nichole currently serves as organist and choir/praise band accompanist at Trinity United Church of Christ in Wooster, OH, where she has the privilege of accompanying members of the Ohio Light Opera each summer. As a flutist, she performs regularly with the Cleveland Donauschwäbische Blaskapelle, a traditional German band, and has made recent appearances with Canton Concert Band, Orrville Community Theater, Lakeland Civic Band, Lakeland Flute Choir, Celebrations Flute Choir, Hillcrest Concert Band, and Wayne County Historical Society Band.
Committed to community building in the private teaching community, Nichole also serves as the Secretary of the Stark-Wayne Chapter of the Ohio Music Teachers Association, and is a member of the Ohio Music Educators Association, Brahms Allegro Music Club, and the National Association for Music Education. She encourages her students to take advantage of performing opportunities through these associations, recently including the OMEA Solo & Ensemble Festival, OMTA Ribbon Festival, and NFMC Junior Music Festival. Her students have also performed as members of the Canton and Akron Youth Symphonies, the Ohio All-State Band, and the Ohio Band Directors' Association Honor Band, and have been honored to serve as first chair players in many of their local school music programs.
