Gillian Fannin credits a family friend, Arlene Badman, for piquing her curiosity in ballet by giving her the book Angelina Ballerina by Katharine Holabird when she was just three years old. Shortly after, she enrolled in her first creative movement class at Wayne Center for the Arts, and enthusiastically mirrored her beloved Angelina in her early years while dancing as a mouse in performances of Nutcracker and Cinderella. Gillian trained for 14 years with Wayne Center for the Arts and Ballet Wooster, graduating from WCA Ballet Company in 2017. In addition to local summer intensives, Gillian studied with Canton Ballet in 2014, Verb Ballet (Stephanie Krise) in 2016, and Ballet in the City (Dusty Buttons) in 2017, and was a performing member of the Bowling Green University Dance Alliance from 2017-2019. Gillian lives in Wooster and is currently pursuing a degree in Inclusive Early Childhood Education from the University of Akron. When not dancing, she can be found creating fabulous baked confections at self-owned G.G. Confections. Gillian is very excited to be back home at Wayne Center for the Arts, helping the next generation of dancers find the joy she captured in the same walls.
