Celebrate Dance Workshop!

On Saturday February 23 from 11:30am - 4:00pm we are hosting CELEBRATE DANCE! We are excited to have guest instructors: Omar Humphrey, Regina Pietraroia, and Mary-Elizabeth Fenn teaching. The day of workshops is open to all dancers. Registration is available under ONE DAY WORKSHOPS.

Here are the guest bios for the event:
A native of Dallas Texas, Omar Humphrey began his dance training at 14 years old with Happy Nia Dance Theater Productions under the instruction of Dereque Whiturs. He also attended Booker T. Washington high school for the performing and Visual Arts. Omar has had the unique privilege to train at some of the most prestigious dance institutions in the United States. Through scholarship, he has trained extensively at the Alvin Ailey American dance theater, LINES contemporary ballet summer program, Bates Dance Festival etc. Omar received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Modern Dance from the University of Oklahoma in 2015. Since graduating, he was a dancer with Cleveland’s Verb Ballets for the past 3 years, where he has had the opportunity to perform both nationally and internationally. In addition to Verb, Omar has done projects with artist in Northeastern Ohio in spaces including Dance, film, and theater.
Regina Pietraroia is a professional dancer, educator, and founder and director of Dance Arts by Regina in North Royalton, Ohio. She grew up in Northeast Ohio, where she studied all forms of dance, was exposed to a variety of guest and master teachers, and received mentorship in teaching practices from the time she was twelve. Regina went on to train at Butler University in Indianapolis, and after college spent several years dancing and teaching in the San Francisco Bay Area. After returning to Cleveland, Regina joined Ohio Dance Theatre, where she performed a variety of classical and contemporary ballets and repertoire, including The Nutcracker, Dracula, Cinderella, The Firebird, and many more. Since her time with ODT, Regina has performed as a guest artist with Neos Dance Theatre in several of director Robert Wesner's full-length ballets, and has also worked with the City Ballet of Cleveland, North Pointe Ballet, and Cleveland Dance Exchange. She continues to participate in the area's artistic community through many guest artist appearances in Cleveland and beyond.
Mary-Elizabeth Fenn, a Wisconsin native, has trained at Milwaukee Ballet School, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Joffrey Ballet School-NYC, BalletMet, and Point Park University. She has a BFA in Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Professional dance experience includes; featured soloist with Spinal Tap and appeared as a soloist in Kanye West’s concert summer series in 2011. Mary-Elizabeth has performed in New York City with Anabella Lenzu/DanceDrama, Amalgamate Dance Company, Yoo & Dancers, Caitlin Dutton, and London artist EddiePeake in Performa 13. In New York, she presented her own work through Fenn & Company at Triskelion Arts Split Bill Series, Comedy in Dance Festival, Triskelion Presents, and Dixon Place NYC10. From 2011-2018, Mary-Elizabeth performed as a lead dancer with Neos Dance Theater and served as their resident choreographer. She has also served as an adjunct modern dance faculty member for University of Akron’s Dance Department and teaches for various dance studios throughout Ohio.
