Join us for a gathering to create artwork to deck our walls for the 6x6 Show! Local artist Dr. Janice Gallagher will lead a workshop focused on collage techniques. Using themes of home and self-image, she'll introduce techniques focused on the power of letting go, the excitement of recycling, and the magic of artist tissue. Your class fee includes all materials you will need for your 6x6 art. Create a unique piece of artwork and help support the arts in the process! (For more information on the 6x6 Show, click here.) Each class will feature something different and will keep you on your toes as you expand your watercolor skills. Each participant will need to bring a set of watercolors and 3 brushes: size O, size 1, and size 2.

Working from a pre-drawn rose, we will discuss and use shading techniques with pencil to give flowers depth. This class offers a great introduction into the potential of a pencil. Please bring a 2B, 4B, & HB pencil as well as an eraser.

Grab this opportunity to make a truly unique handmade holiday gift. This project is a necklace made from metal washers and alcohol ink. Learn the process and have a gift to give when you’re done. Please wear clothes and shoes that can get stained, just in case. Bring two sandwich baggies and thin plastic gloves. All other supplies are provided.

This workshop will teach the basics of framing your artwork/photographs for presentation and protection. This general picture framing workshop will give you the opportunity to learn and participate in the framing design, measurement, mounting, matting, and assembly of your own custom framing. But more importantly, this class will teach you the techniques, concepts, and verbiage that commercial framers use and expose you to archival framing methods, and material sources, You will learn the right questions to ask, and how to make better decisions when purchasing specialty framing. Please bring an 8x10" piece of artwork (or photograph) to frame during class (frame is included).
