Watercolor | Fall 2019: Aug. 27-Oct. 8 | Ages 14+

Paint more. Learn more. Enjoy seven 2-hour sessions that will develop your watercolor skills and increase your appreciation for the art of watercolor. This is a class for beginners as well as advanced watercolor artists. Start where you are and move to the next level. Every time you pick up your brush you learn something new. Come enjoy the fun! Students need to bring supplies; supply list is available online or at the front desk.
Pet Portrait Drawing | Fall 2019: Oct. 10-Nov. 14 | Ages 16+

Participants will be taken through the process of creating a highly realistic drawing of their favorite furry friends. Working from a photo-reference Ben Christo will guide students through the entire process of selecting the best reference, composition, the block-in, and rendering tricky textures such as fur to create a realistic portrait of dogs, cats, horses etc. Students need to bring supplies; materials list available online (see list for "Pet Portrait") or at front desk.
Color Theory | Fall 2019: Oct. 22-Nov. 12 | Ages 14+

Do you have a hard time deciding on colors? This course helps to better understand the power of color and how to effectively use color as visual language. In this class we will be experimenting with color studies. Each session we will be learning a new technique and applying it to our own color studies, followed by a brief critique. The final study will be a finished piece on canvas of your choice of color technique(s). This class will investigate color principles, color interactions, color unity, seeing colors from life, and psychological experience of color. Throughout the sessions it will reference a large array of renowned artists and designers from Western to Eastern cultures. From taking color theory, it may have you rethinking the way you see color in your every day life and find a new language in your visual creations.
