Week 5 | Creative Inventors | July 22-26 | Ages 6-11
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Instructor: Alison Eby
Do you enjoy making inventions, building structures, or creating designs that are attractive and useful? Can you use your creativity in art as well as science and math? Do you find yourself curious about how something is made and day dreaming of how you could make it better? If you answered yes, or you want to find out if these questions are true for you, then this summer camp was meant for you! Spend a week creating designs such as catapults that launch paint, robots that can color your papers, and paper rockets that dazzle in appearance and have the ability to fly hundreds of feet through the air!
Week 5 | Cross Disciplinary Art & Design | July 22-26 | Ages 12-16
Cross Disciplinary Art and Design
2:00 - 5:00 pm
Leonardo Di Vinci, Benjamin Franklin and Nikola Tesla; what do these famous figures have in common? All three refused to confine their interests to one discipline; excelling as both artists and scientists. Do you also have boundless curiosity, infinite creativity and joy for finding solutions in unexpected ways? If so, this Art Intensive will exercise all the right brain muscles! This course explores all aspects of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math) in fun and challenging ways. So, do you have what it takes to design an attractive and effective package that safely delivers a single Pringle through the post? Can you create a robot that does the work of coloring for you? What about a mechanical hand that can pass as human? Put all of these challenge to the test this summer!

Aspiring designers and performers join the ultimate challenge. This power-packed creative camp will prepare each participant as a contestant for Friday’s Finale to be presented to parents in a vivacious studio performance. Students will work together in teams to make inventive creations in a specified time, with limited materials, and a precise theme. The dance theatre portion will help students take raw ideas and craft them into finished acts for audience endorsement. WCA’s got talent and it’s time to show it off! Registration includes the performance T-Shirt.
