Art is more than just what hangs on the walls of the museum! In this week long camp kids will explore a world of creative possibilities while making projects that they can use or wear! Learn how construct your own wallet or satchel, create a tie-dye design with dyes you make from nature, craft your own foosball table from a box and so, so, much more!
Week 4 | Handcrafted World | July 15-19 | Ages 12-16

Creative expression takes many forms, why limit it to traditional mediums and techniques!? Explore a multitude of art forms and craft fields in this week long intensive. This class is designed to align with the interests of the students, and each day will start with a choice for their daily project/skill. Possibilities abound and include, but are not limited to, handmade paper, book binding, silk dying and fabric printing, wool felting, paper arts, model-making, found object art, paper-mache sculpture, and more.

Musical Theatre Camp is a celebration of the crowning live-action achievement of show business. Poppins, a British nanny employs her unique brand of lifestyle to improve the London family's dynamic through songs and dances. Students will learn musical theatre dances that commemorate the laughter and showmanship inspired by the story. Winds from the east... Mist comin' in... Like somethin' was brewin', about to begin... Can't put me finger on what lies in store... But I feel what's to 'appen, all 'appened before...
Week 5 | Creative Inventors | July 22-26 | Ages 6-11

Do you enjoy making inventions, building structures, or creating designs that are attractive and useful? Can you use your creativity in art as well as science and math? Do you find yourself curious about how something is made and day dreaming of how you could make it better? If you answered yes, or you want to find out if these questions are true for you, then this summer camp was meant for you! Spend a week creating designs such as catapults that launch paint, robots that can color your papers, and paper rockets that dazzle in appearance and have the ability to fly hundreds of feet through the air!

Leonardo Di Vinci, Benjamin Franklin and Nikola Tesla; what do these famous figures have in common? All three refused to confine their interests to one discipline; excelling as both artists and scientists. Do you also have boundless curiosity, infinite creativity and joy for finding solutions in unexpected ways? If so, this Art Intensive will exercise all the right brain muscles! This course explores all aspects of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math) in fun and challenging ways. So, do you have what it takes to design an attractive and effective package that safely delivers a single Pringle through the post? Can you create a robot that does the work of coloring for you? What about a mechanical hand that can pass as human? Put all of these challenge to the test this summer!

Dancing Online: Presence, Professionalism, and Pitfalls

Most young dancers are finding their biggest dance inspirations through social media and video outlets such as YouTube, Instagram, etc. Widely known dancers have created a strong presence on social media. Because it only takes a matter of seconds to take and post a fascinating dance photos or videos for others to see, dancers can widely benefit from maintaining their social media platforms. This course will offer tips on how to maintain a social media presence, using Instagram as the main example, with a safe and accountable method. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend the class with dancers to help them catch photos and videos and understand responsible networking. Dancers will have a professional advantage by learning about digital photo composition and presenting their artform to the world.

Come have a taste of everything the Art Center has to offer. In this camp we will play in clay, dabble in drawing, practice painting, and dip into dance. This is a unique opportunity to experience all the Wayne Center for the Arts Programs--all in one week.

Aspiring designers and performers join the ultimate challenge. This power-packed creative camp will prepare each participant as a contestant for Friday’s Finale to be presented to parents in a vivacious studio performance. Students will work together in teams to make inventive creations in a specified time, with limited materials, and a precise theme. The dance theatre portion will help students take raw ideas and craft them into finished acts for audience endorsement. WCA’s got talent and it’s time to show it off! Registration includes the performance T-Shirt.
