Dance Classes at Wayne Center for the Arts

The Community School of Dance is a recreational program designed for dancers of every age. The Toddler & Me Class begins at age 18 months while the Adult Dance classes keep us all dancing into the future. This program promotes exploratory dance lessons using movement for expression, wellness, learning academics, and fitness. It also provides dance lessons for those who are not old enough or cannot make the time commitment required of the pre-professional school. The Community School uses the same dance faculty and syllabi as the Pre-Professional School. The Community School consists of four levels.

The Pre-Professional School of Dance also consists of four levels (A-D). Students are evaluated individually and placed into the level where they will most benefit. Classes consist of ballet, pointe, contemporary, variations, and master classes. Performing opportunities give students the chance to develop their artistic and technical skills. Wayne Center for the Arts presents three sessions of performance a year, a biennial Nutcracker, and additional local performance opportunities throughout the year.
