Art Educators

Wayne Center for the Arts offers multiple teaching assignments at the Walnut Street School location, as well as outreach teaching opportunities throughout the community.  We are continually looking for educators who are enthusiastic about art to join our team and teach visual art classes for preschool and elementary age students as well as adults.

Candidates that love teaching and are responsible, reliable, and flexible are encouraged to apply. Good organization and classroom management skills are required. Familiarity with the Ohio Department of Education Visual Art Standards is helpful and at a BA in art education, studio art, performing art, or similar field is preferred.

Teaching artists interested in independent contracting for instruction of workshops or classes of any medium of visual, performing, or literary art form can apply via the contact info below.  We are now planning for class offerings for the Winter/Spring period, beginning in January. Inquiries should include lesson plans for either multi week class sessions or day workshops. You can refer to our most recent course catalog for examples of the types and lengths of classes we currently offer.

Dance Educator

Wayne Center for the Arts dance programs are based upon the principle that exposure to a diverse array of arts helps our dancers become well-rounded artists and community members. Our vision is to inspire and prepare the next generation of dancers by exposing them to different styles and approaches. We offer two dance programs that provide stimulating, well-rounded educational experiences. Both The Community School of Dance and The Pre-Professional School of Dance are designed to provide dance lessons for the diverse interests of our students.

Now Hiring - Dance Faculty Member

Wayne Center for the Arts offers multiple teaching assignments at the Walnut Street School location, as well as outreach teaching opportunities throughout the community.  We are continually looking for educators who are enthusiastic about professional dance to join our team and teach dance classes for preschool, elementary, pre-professional students as well as adults.

Candidates that love teaching dance and are responsible, reliable, and flexible are encouraged to apply. Superior organization, technique, and classroom management skills are required. Past Experience Preferred: Performance experience including classical ballet, musical theater, and modern/contemporary dance; skill-based learning, choreography, familiarity with costuming, lighting, and production; classroom management. Familiarity with the Ohio Department of Education Dance Standards is helpful and pre-professional dance background, with a degree in dance, is preferred.
