Thank you! The Fall Festival was a Great Success!
On October 7th, the front lawn of Wayne Center for the Arts was transformed into an artists’ market, kids’ fun zone, art studio, and community gathering space! Over 30 artists and vendors participated in the annual Fall Festival at WCA which also was the celebration of WCA’s 50th Anniversary!
Other highlights outside were a bounce house for kids, pumpkin painting, and pottery demonstrations. In addition, several community groups like the Wayne County Humane Society and Wayne County Public Library supplied activities for families.
Inside there were even more things to do! The Other People’s Prints exhibit in the Gault Gallery featured 12 spectacular Ohio artists who created unique works using various types of printing techniques. In the Looney Gallery, the annual 6x6 Exhibit showcased a wide array of miniature art from many artists across the community.
WCA’s new printing press was rocking and rolling as guests could make their own tote bag. Not only did this provide a fun souvenir, it gave attendees of all ages the chance to “spin the wheel” try their hand at printmaking.
Down in the auditorium, Wayne Center Dance performed a sneak peek of the upcoming “Nightmare Before Christmas” show to premier on October 20. Attendees could also partake in cake and ice cream to celebrate WCA’s 50th as well as enjoying the 50th Anniversary Exhibit which opened. Later, reggae band Shake Ground performed and had the whole room dancing!
WCA is so grateful to all of the volunteers, vendors, artists, dancers, and community members who helped make this event a huge success! It was a beautiful fall day to celebrate the arts in our community!
