Who We Are


Art Educators

Wayne Center for the Arts offers multiple teaching assignments at the Walnut Street School location, as well as outreach teaching opportunities throughout the community.  We are continually looking for educators who are enthusiastic about art to join our team and teach visual art classes for preschool and elementary age students as well as adults.

Candidates that love teaching and are responsible, reliable, and flexible are encouraged to apply. Good organization and classroom management skills are required. Familiarity with the Ohio Department of Education 2012 Visual Art Standards is helpful and at a BA in art education, studio art, performing art, or similar field is preferred.

Part Time Custodial Position open.



Part-Time (approximately 15 hours per week) Reports to General Manager



Under the general supervision of the General Manager, the Custodian has the primary responsibility for cleaning the Center so as to promote health, safety and a general professional appearance. It is the role of the custodian to follow daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules, which include but are not limited to classrooms, kitchens, office areas, bathrooms, storage areas, lobby, entrances and occasional outdoor work. This position also has the potential to include some additional substitute or part time reception hours (above the 15 custodial hours) for the right candidate, though this is not currently a requirement to apply. 



o   Follows and completes the Centers daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule which includes;

o   Collecting and bagging all garbage and placing tied bags in dumpster

o   Disinfecting and cleaning all garbage and trashcans

o   Washing and sanitizing bathroom, kitchen and classroom fixtures

o   Mopping entrance and classroom floors as specified

o   Dusting, washing and sanitizing other surfaces as specified

o   Refills paper towel, tissue, toilet paper and hand soap

o   Reports all safety hazards noticed as well as maintenance and repair needs to General


o   Monitors cleaning supplies and equipment and reports inventory and repair needs to

General Manager

o   Performs other duties as required and may assist in special events on and off site.



Experience in the custodial field desirable. Knowledge of proper cleaning methods required. Effective oral and written communication skills commensurate with the responsibilities of the position required with ability to present a positive image of the organization to members of the community. Must be able to comply with criminal and sex offender background check as required by Wayne Center for the Arts for all personnel. Must be able to physically move through the Center and classrooms including staircases.  Ability to lift 50 pounds is required.

Compensation is $10 per hour.
