Fall 2016 Policies & General Information
Financial Aid & Scholarships
Financial aid and scholarships are available for students demonstrating financial need. Families who have not applied for financial aid or scholarships in 2016 should complete and return the Financial Aid Forms. Those who have already applied for financial aid in 2015 need only check the “I would like to use financial aid” box on the application.
Summer Camp Philosophy & Information
Our summer camps use a process-based approach. Guided by our professional staff, students engage in critical thought, collaborative learning and creative experimentation. We emphasize the skills acquired during the art making process. To that end, students will often work collaboratively and may create temporary installations that will not go home with them at the end of camp. We do however strive to send all campers home with at least one piece of work.
Students in art camps often use messy materials. Although we do provide aprons, please send your child to camp in clothes that are appropriate for using paint, clay and other materials. Students will be busy creating during camp. Please leave all electronics and valuables at home. For your campers safety, please do not send your child in flip-flops or slip-on shoes.
There is a 30 minute lunch period for students attending a full-day camp. Please provide your child with a non-perishable lunch and drink labeled with their first and last name.
Occasionally classes and workshops are cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. In such cases, the Registration Office will notify you approximately three days before the scheduled start date. Your tuition will be refunded in-full by check.
Withdrawal, Refunds & Credits
Refunds or account credits may be issued if withdrawal from classes or workshops occurs before the class begins. In order to receive a refund, a withdrawal form must be completed and returned to Wayne Center for the Arts at least 72 hours before the start of the course. Account credits will be issued if withdrawal occurs within 72 hours of the start of the course. There will be no refunds or account credits issued (except for severe injury or illness) if withdrawal occurs after the course start date.
In order to help ensure the safety of your child, parents or guardians must sign children ages 12 and younger in and out of class. Parents or guardians may authorize students ages 11 and 12 to sign themselves in and out of class on the required Emergency Information & Authorization Form. Parents and guardians of students under the age of 6 must remain in the waiting area during class times, but do not need to stay during summer camp hours.
Wayne Center for the Arts reserves the right to refuse service and also reserves the right to change instructors without notice for any course.
By registering for a class or workshop, and in consideration of acceptance of enrollment, you hereby for yourself, your heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release any and all rights and claims for damages you or your child may have against the Wayne Center for the Arts and its representatives, successors and assigns for any and all injuries suffered by yourself or your child during any activity sponsored by the groups. Unless specifically designated, you do hereby grant and give these groups the right to use you or your child’s photograph or image with or without your or your child’s name, both single and in conjunction with other persons or objects, for any and all purposes including, but not limited to private or public presentations, advertising, publicity and promotion relating thereto. For the privacy of our students, parents are asked to please refrain from videotaping classes.
