More on our musical guest, Scott Perkins:
Scott Perkins, pianist, enjoys playing a variety of musical styles, including jazz, classical, and ragtime. Scott has performed as a soloist and collaborative pianist at the College of Wooster’s Gault Recital Hall, Kent State University’s Ludwig Recital Hall, Malone University’s Johnson Center, Lakeside Chautauqua’s Hoover Auditorium, the Wooster Arts Jazz Fest, and at various churches and private and public events. In 2014 he performed in France, Germany, and the Netherlands with the Blue Lake International Southern Winds concert band. In the 2016, Scott was thrilled to celebrate two milestones: winning the senior division of the Ohio Music Teachers’ Association Buckeye Auditions and performing his first solo recital. Scott currently studies classical piano with Dr. Brian Dykstra and previously studied jazz under the instruction of Greg Slawson. A variety of other musical pursuits, including other instruments, voice, composition, arrangement and recording compete with the piano for Scott’s attention. Scott is a first-year student at The College of Wooster.
